Queen Elizabeth II’s former press secretary Ailsa Anderson says Her Majesty was a “very different person in Scotland than she was back in London”.

“The Queen loved Scotland … I heard a lovely phrase by one of her footmen saying, ‘she would arrive at Balmoral, and she’d leave her crown on the front door,’” Ms Anderson told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“She could be herself; she could be relaxed.”
